Centro Vernon Smith de Economía Experimental at Universidad Francisco Marroquín will host the 5th Antigua Experimental Economics Conference on February 24-25, 2017. The event will be held in Casa Popenoe, Antigua Guatemala.
A main objective of this conference is to strengthen the ties, within the experimental economics community, between Latin America and the rest of the world.
We invite submissions from experimentalists, researchers and graduate students from around the world. We would like to especially encourage those from, or doing research in, Latin America to apply. This event features a broad cross section of experimental research and world-class plenary speakers.
The conference fee is US$249 for faculty and US$149 for students (before January 12, 2017), or US$349 for faculty and US$239 for students (after January 12, 2017). The fee includes participation and all meals (coffee breaks, lunches and dinners, including Gala Dinner), except breakfast (to be included in lodging).
As the former capital of Guatemala and a UNESCO World Heritage site, Antigua Guatemala is one of the most beautiful and best preserved colonial cities in the Americas. This peaceful and idyllic location provides the perfect backdrop for the exchange of ideas. Antigua Guatemala is just 50 minutes from Guatemala City and La Aurora International Airport. See a map of Antigua here.
Located in the heart of Antigua, Casa Popenoe was the perfect venue to accommodate the Antigua Experimental Economics Workshop and Conference in this historic city. Casa Popenoe, built in the XVII Century, is one of the most beautiful estates in Antigua and to this day it preserves its original colonial charm. To view a video of Casa Popenoe click here.
